Subject: One of the best post Jerry shows ever
To the person who wrote "it's the show," I must respectfully disagree. You are the FIRST person I've heard from that was there (or even heard it after the fact) that DIDN'T think this show was smoking.

I haven't heard THIS recording (I have the SBD), BUT this SHOW was absolutely STELLAR. This one, 5/2, and 5/10 are probably the three best post Jerry shows I've heard.

Hard to judge them against eachother, but this just may have been THE best show. A nice Stranger and Crazy Fingers, a WONDERFUL Sailor/Saint, and an intense Casey Jones just in the first set.

The second set was creative, well played, and full of surprises. First we get a surprise mini acoustic set (they'd been every 7 shows, so this was a out of the blue) that included a FANTASTIC Whiskey in the Jar and (all be it predictable) maybe the best EVER (yes, I mean EVER) Me and My Uncle. An INTENSE Space jam BEFORE drums that melted into a truly psychedelic Happy B-day to Billy, a nice Ramble on Rose, a scorching King Solomon's Marbles and then Drums/Space all over again!

The gorgeous (and 1st time of tour played) China Doll was a great choice for the post space ballad, the Cumberland another nice selection, and Not Fade Away as the closer and Ripple as the encore solidified this as one of the tour's best shows. Download it and listen to it often. Five star show from start to finish.

Subject: What is wrong with the recording?
The problem with this recording is the the concert being recored sucks. I love the dead, seen them befor and they did great. I was at this show. Its the concert not the recording.

Subject: It's Another One
This could be "punched up" a bit, Re-EQ'd. It lacks substance, in terms of how much "information" is actually in the recording. It comes off as being "flat" or "dull" in it's present incarnation. It lacks "punch". There are a few stutters too. Start of Crazy Fingers, for instance. Like a slight "open" in a connection somewhere. And where is that awful HISSSSS coming from? Mic's on stage? Picky SOB, ain't I? Years in the biz'll do that to ya'. And no, Chuck ain't Charlie.

Subject: Quality??
Anyone compared this to the chuck miller source? And is chuck the same as charlie miller??
